The course is an integrated series of sequential classes that build on one another and are designed to help students recognize the body’s stress mechanism, the impact of stress on our lives, and how yoga can help us cultivate self-awareness to manage our reaction to stress. The four classes introduce increasingly sophisticated gentle yoga tools (poses, breathing, and meditation) to reduce the effects of stress. The classes will cover: 1) the impacts of chronic stress and relieving muscular-skeletal tension and headaches; 2) understanding major stressors, and a morning stress practice; 3) noticing habits and lifestyle management tools for stress, identifying one habit you would like to change, and an evening stress practice; and 4) strategies to manage anxiety around stress.
WHO: Suitable for all levels (prior yoga experience is not necessary).
WHEN: Classes will run on April 26th, May 3rd, May 10th, May 17th 2018. (Note: Course participation requires a commitment to all four classes.)
Pre-registration $100; register after April 26 $110
