If you're curious about Acro Yoga, this is the series for you! We'll start at the beginning and provide a grounding in fundamental Acro vocabulary, poses and transitions in a fun and safe environment. Build community with your fellow yogis, rev up your energy with partner acrobatics and cool down with rejuvenating partner work, including restorative flying and aspects of Thai massage. Come alone or with a partner or group of friends. While an established yoga practice will give you a “leg up,” no prior yoga or Acro experience or partner needed. We prefer you take the whole series to build on skills week to week, but drop-in options are available. $95 for all 6 classes, or $20 per individual class.
Classes led by Keith Miller and Rob Pierce. Keith & Rob have each been yogaing for over 10 years and acroing together for over 4. They completed 200 hour YTT with Gopi in 2014. Rob - "Yoga is never-ending practice - always something new to learn, that's my favorite part! But some things you can't practice alone. That's why I think partner yoga and acro are a great complement to a more traditional yoga practice." Keith - "Prompted by the sometimes overwhelming seriousness of many aspects of everyday life, I am drawn to the playfulness, silliness, and overall fun of acro. I am also inspired by its power to build community - something that is sorely needed in our society today - as well as continually being surprised by the way that acro can transform the way that we communicate with others around us, both on and off the mat." It is their goal to provide a playful and safe atmosphere to explore the edges of your practice in relationship to others - ideally providing skills that you can take out of the studio with you. Outside the studio, Keith & Rob are both tech nerds and theater enthusiasts.
