TRDC youth at Partner Schools receive life skills training and have after-school running practice at least two days per week. Youth from our weekday and weekend programs come together once a week at Saturday practice where they run alongside mentors who serve as strong, positive role models. Students learn responsibility, discipline, perseverance, and goal-setting skills as they train for progressively longer distance races.
Teens Run DC is a youth mentoring program that uses running to effect change.
Teens Run DC is a community of youth, parents/families, schools, volunteers, donors, and staff that all work together to empower youth and help them achieve life and running goals.
We see our youth in their goodness and strength and provide them with opportunities to connect and succeed, with the hope that they might see themselves in an increasingly positive light and feel connected and successful.
Teens Run DC operates during the academic year, with a more relaxed schedule during the summer.
