Turning the Page links public schools, families and our community so that, together, we can ensure students receive valuable educational resources and a high-quality public education.
Linking D.C. and Chicago public schools, families, and our community.
Turning the Page is confident that with hard work and continued cooperation, we as a community can make sure D.C. public school students receive every opportunity to succeed in school and in life. Turning the Page's most important belief is in D.C. public school students themselves: Every child has the potential to achieve, if given the resource-rich learning environment that families, schools and community members can provide.
Turning the Page also has a used book store in downtown D.C., Carpe Librum, that functions as a fundraising endeavor. All used books, CDs, and DVDs for sale at Carpe Librum are donated through book drives in area businesses, apartment buildings, and universities, or donated by individuals. Proceeds from Carpe Librum go towards Turning the Page's family engagement programs in their partner schools. Stop by to browse thousands of gently used books, CDs, and DVDs (including thousands of great kids' books!) all priced $1 - $4!
