Black Iron Pizza restaurant was created by Eric McCoy, a chef with passion for fine dining, and Harry Geller, a successful serial entrepreneur and restauranteur.
After training at 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants in France and cooking at top DC restaurants (Citronelle, Gerard’s Place, Café Bethesda), Eric’s passion is to bring exquisite flavor combinations to a much wider customer base.
Our dough is freshly made on premises. Our ingredients are of the highest quality. Always fresh, locally sourced when possible, carefully made in small batches, and sometimes even imported from Europe.
Through fire and stone which has been used for centuries to craft the finest pizza and breads, we are able to develop rich and complex flavors in our offerings that have become the hallmark of the finest pizzas in the world. This method creates an airy crust that also has just the right chew giving great bread its texture and feel. In addition to traditional pizza dough, we offer great-tasting whole wheat and gluten-free alternatives.
Traditional American pizzas are using processed high-fat ingredients. At Black Iron Pizza we use Mediterranean diet staples, such as fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, exotic mushrooms, baby arugula, eggplant, fresh basil, olive oil and other healthy options. If, however, you would like to indulge, we offer applewood-smoked bacon, procciuto di Parma, Italian sausage, white truffle oil, not to mention dessert pizzas. Our menu also offers salads, calzones, and gelatos.
