The Color My World Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing young children with artistic opportunities and forward thinking mindsets while simultaneously repurposing hundreds of thousands of wasted crayons.
Well over 100 million crayons are wasted every year in more than 15,000 family style restaurant chains across the United States. The Color My World Project (CMW) collects crayons from restaurants in 14 states coast-to-coast. Recycling bins are placed inside the restaurants' kitchens, where the staff can place the crayons instead of throwing them in the trash. Then, teenage representatives from CMW donate those crayons to shelters, schools, daycare centers, orphanages, and hospitals and spend time coloring with the kids and teaching them about the importance of recycling and reducing waste. Crayons can help stimulate children’s imaginations and nurture their dreams. With Color My World, we will color outside the lines and together draw a picture for a better future. So far, CMW has donated 105,000 crayons to various places in need across the country. For more detailed info please visit our website: www.colormyworldproject.org
